My name is Oliver Schmitz. I am a Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Duisburg-Essen, where I lead the Chair of Applied Analytical Chemistry.
My research focuses on understanding and characterising complex chemical and biological systems using advanced mass spectrometry, ionisation methods, and chromatographic separation techniques.
I combine fundamental research, interdisciplinary collaborations, industrial consulting, and the supervision of young scientists.
